Now the quality of the studio's sound has grown beyond anything that could be imagined in 1994. At the heart of the recording flow is a MobileIO 2882 + DSP from Metric¬ÝHalo Labs. This extraordinary box is the digital converter, monitor controller, DSP factory and much more. It is the front end to Logic Studio software running on a 17-inch MacBookPro coupled to a 23-inch Apple cinema display. Other equipment includes Mordaunt-Short nearfield monitors, M-Audio fully-weighted MIDI controller keyboard, Peluso microphones, and a variety of stringed instruments, both conventional and exotic.

Musical Experience, Recording Resources

Boulder recording studio

Dancing Leaf Recording Studio is intimate and Ashik usually doesn't record conventional music groups playing simultaneously. He likes to work with individuals who want superb sound quality, whether it be voice over recording or instrumental and vocal recording, and support in getting the best out of the latest digital recording equipment. He is willing to spend whatever it takes to find the best sound from an acoustic guitar, a harp, or a human voice.

The artist/client can walk in the surrounding national forest to clear their head or soak in the redwood hot tub to loosen their fingers or vocal cords. The quiet and isolation are fertile ground for the musical imagination, and Ashik's 45 years of experience as a musician is a unique resource.¬Ý Over the years he has been a supporting performer for the following recording artists:
Tom Paxton, Peter, Paul & Mary, Muddy Waters, Roberta Flack, Lenny Kravitz, Linda Ronstadt, and Miles Davis. As a violinist he has played with the following performing artists:
Graham Bond, Dudu Pukwana, Lee Clayton, David Lindley, Prem Joshua, and Japanese star Shoukichi Kina, and the bass with Peter Makena.

Voice Over Recording

In the nineties Ashik was a successful voice-over artist in Tokyo, so with that experience and his many years of audio editing he can take on any project involving sound-for-picture, narration, and educational materials. Currently the spaces between musical projects are occupied with editing and mastering spoken word recordings. He has worked closely with the video editing section of Sublime Dezine Studio on video voice over as well, supplying the recorded voice over which is then edited into a video sound track using Final Cut Pro.
